This 8 day trip will provide an invaluable source of learning for students, allowing them to develop a better understanding of culture, geography and science. They will experience thrilling adventures such as backpacking along the Himalayan mountain range and white water rafting as well as emersing themselves in the culture and local traditions with sightseeing in Pokhara and visiting a local community school.

day to day

day 01


Arrive at Kathmandu airport and drive to the hotel. After check-in, there will be a safety and orientation briefing on your expedition followed by dinner and rest and relaxation at the hotel. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

day 02

Drive to Pokhara via rafting on Trishuli Riverv

After breakfast, students will leave Kathmandu Valley behind as they follow the Prithvi Highway towards Pokhara. A couple of hours into the journey, the group will stop for an exciting river rafting experience on the Trishuli River. Exhilarating rapids together with easier sections makes it suitable for both experienced or first-time rafters. After drying off, the journey will continue onto Pokhara – a beautiful town set on the banks of Phewa Tai, a vast and spectacular lake beneath the Annapurna range. Students will enjoy the peace and tranquility of this stunning location before dinner and rest at their hotel. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

day 03

Sightseeing in Pokhara

Today will be a full day of sightseeing, starting with Mahindra cave where students get the chance to walk inside and discover all the different kinds of rock around the wall, including sparkling limestone. After this, proceed to MahendraPul, a market place where Seti, the vanishing river, disappears underground in many places of the city. Stop and enjoy a lunch break before visiting the Tibetan Refugee Camp, where the group will visit a monastery and interact with refugees. There will also be a chance for shopping toward the end of the day before returning to the hotel to freshen up for dinner. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

day 04

Community Project Day

After breakfast, the team will make their way to a local school for a full day of community project work. This involves a half an hour drive and an hour’s trek to reach the school. The day will include interacting with students, teaching them English, playing games and also some physical work. Closer to departure, we will confirm what work needs doing to enhance the school and what students will be doing to help. After a productive day, students will hike back towards Pokhara passing the Shanti Stupa (Peace Pagoda) and will enjoy a boat ride across Fewa Lake to get back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

day 05

Chitwan National Park

After breakfast, the group will check out of their hotel in Pokhara and drive alongside stunning scenery to Chitwan National Park. Upon arrival, students will have lunch and check-in to their hotel. They will then visit the national park center before watching sunset on the Rapti river bank. After dinner, the group can watch cultural dancing. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Chitwan.

day 06

Activity day in Chitwan National Park

An action packed day at Chitwan National Park is in store for the group today. After breakfast, students will experience elephant bathing time in Chitwan jungle. After lunch, take a traditional wooden canoe ride before visiting the elephant breeding centre, to see baby elephants and get involved with the preparing of kuchiis – elephant sweets made from molasses, salt and rice wrapped in grass. Dinner and overnight in Chitwan.

day 07

Sightseeing in Kathmandu

The group will transfer back to Kathmandu which takes approximately 4 hours and upon arrival will visit Swayambhunath Stupa – The stupa is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Nepal and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner will be at an authentic Nepali restaurant. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

day 08

Sightseeing / departure

Depending on flight times, the group may have time to visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, a focal point of the city and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
